Why I started YourMove
For as long as I can remember, movement has been at the core of my life. From growing up as a competitive swimmer and cross-country runner to competing at the Division 1 level in college to now running Marathons, I’ve always understood the power of pushing my body to new limits. But with that dedication came injuries, setbacks, and the realization that proper recovery is just as crucial as training itself.
I became a physical therapist because I know firsthand what it feels like to be sidelined. I’ve felt the frustration of missing races, the fear of losing fitness, and the uncertainty of wondering if I’d ever be able to return to my sport. That experience fueled my passion for helping others—runners, weightlifters, and youth athletes—navigate their own injuries and come back stronger.
After completing my doctorate in physical therapy, earning my Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) certification, and finishing an orthopedic residency, I spent some years working in traditional clinical orthopedic settings. While I gained valuable experience, I also saw the limitations of the insurance-based model. Athletes weren’t getting the care they truly needed—appointments were rushed, treatment plans were dictated by insurance rather than performance goals, and people were left feeling like just another number in the system. I knew there had to be a better way.
That’s why I started YourMove Physical Therapy and Sports Performance. I wanted to create a space where athletes could get the high-level, individualized care they deserve—without the restrictions of insurance. Whether it’s rehabbing an injury, optimizing performance, or preventing setbacks before they happen, my goal is to help athletes stay in motion and do what they love for the long run.
YourMove isn’t just about recovery; it’s about empowerment. It’s about teaching athletes how to take control of their bodies, train smarter, and build resilience so they can continue breaking barriers. If you’re an athlete who refuses to be sidelined, I’d love to help you keep moving forward!
